Calculate weighted grades or find the score you need on your final exam
This grade calculator supports two modes. Weighted Grade mode calculates your overall grade from multiple assignments with different weight percentages. Final Exam mode determines the score you need on your final exam to reach a target grade. Both modes show the letter grade equivalent.
Multiply each assignment grade by its weight percentage, sum all results, then divide by the total weight. For example, if a midterm worth 30% scores 85% and a final worth 40% scores 90%, the weighted grade is (85×0.30 + 90×0.40) / (0.30 + 0.40).
Use the formula: Required Exam Score = (Desired Grade - Current Grade × (1 - Exam Weight)) / Exam Weight. For example, with a current grade of 78%, desired grade of 90%, and exam weight of 25%, you need (90 - 78×0.75) / 0.25 = 96% on the final.
